Walking around Lake Hollywood is fun, but you can’t take your dog or any pets around the reservoir itself – mainly because of snakes. But the walk around the top of the park is beautiful.
Here are the directions:
At Franklin and Beachwood – head north on Beachwood Drive and turn LEFT on WINANS.
Cross Gower and continue straight across to Winans. Once at the split, go left.
Sharp RIGHT on Vasanta Way.
Turn RIGHT on Creston Dr.
Turn RIGHT on Durand Dr.
Around 2844 Durand there is a TINY parking lot at the entrance to the hike.
From there you can walk down into the reservoir. If you keep the the right when you enter, you’ll wrap around the park. Dogs are allowed in this section. If you decide to go around the actual reservoir, you can’t bring your dogs there. Seriously, it’s dangerous (SNAKES!). Don’t change it because it’s cool. Don’t make us regret sharing directions! 🙂
Have a fun hike!
